Awesome for my trip!

Got the Great Desert Tracks Map Pack and it was fantastic for my outback journey! The detail was incredible, really helped us navigate some tricky spots. I relied on it heavily and it didn't let me down once. Will absolutely be back for more maps for my next adventure!

Good map, fast delivery

I ordered the Pilbara and Gascoyne Map. It arrived quickly, well-packaged. The map was clear and easy to read. Used it on a recent trip and it was accurate. Happy with my purchase.

HX-2 good, shipping slow

I bought the HX-2+ GPS Navigator. The device itself is great for off-road, very detailed maps and easy to use. However, the shipping took about 8 days to reach me in Sydney, which felt a bit long. Customer service was helpful when I called about tracking, but overall, the delivery speed could improve a little. Still, a solid product for adventure travel.

Detailed review of HX-2 purchase

I purchased the HX-2 GPS Navigator a few weeks ago. The ordering process on their website was straightforward, no issues there. Delivery took about 6 days to get to regional Queensland, which is acceptable. The unit came well-packaged. Setting it up was pretty intuitive, and I found the pre-loaded Hema Maps very useful right out of the box. I took it on a recent trip through the Victorian High Country. The off-road mapping was excellent, showing tracks I couldn't find on other apps. Battery life seemed decent, lasting most of the day with intermittent use. I also bought an HX-2 Sunshade, which really helped with glare. I haven't needed customer support yet, so I can't comment on that. Overall, a solid investment for anyone serious about 4WDing, the device performs as expected.

Hey, thinking of grabbing an HX-2. I'm in San Francisco, any idea how long shipping usually takes to the US?

S Sophie 2 months ago
Mine took like 2 weeks to get to Texas, but that was pre-covid so YMMV. They ship from Aus so it's never super fast.

Yeah, pretty sure they ship from Australia. I'd expect at least 10-14 business days, maybe more with customs and everything. It's not Amazon prime for sure.

I'm looking at the HX-2+ but also considering Gaia GPS. Anyone used both? Wondering if the Hema is really worth the extra cash for serious off-roading.

I've got the HX-2 and it's built like a tank. The Hema maps are just way more detailed for proper off-grid stuff, especially in Australia, not sure about US though. Gaia is good but feels more 'consumer' if that makes sense.

Gaia is cheaper for sure. Hema has specific off-road tracks and points of interest that Gaia sometimes misses. But if you're not planning super remote adventures, Gaia might be enough. Plus, you can use Gaia on your phone.
